February 2006
Seems like we have an unfortunate trend going here.
Bob Hanneman
, Audio-Visual Director at GHS until his retirement in 1992, died February 10 (Some of you may also remember his wife, Doris, who helped found the Greenfield school district's Gifted & Talented program). Details were published in the Milwaukee Journel-Sentinel.

Somebody please send me some good news!

January 2006
Gerda Christen
, longtime GHS German teacher, died January 16 at age 85. She is survived by four children and nine grandchildren.

Update from Nick Wiencek: I recently dissolved my investment company and have just completed ten years of service at Krones. My name has been in 4 WHEELER, and RODZ magazine for the work I have done on these vehicles. I have just finished a chopper that is featured advertising for a motorcycle cover.

November 2005

October 2005
Our congrats to the former Shelly Kabella, who became Shelly Wilcox on October 22, 2005. (For those of you still not following along, that means she was married).

I know this one is really late in being posted, but I just stumbled across it: Here's an article from OnMilwaukee.com (originally posted 12/2003) about Debbie (Tomlinson) Pagel's business, Eat Cake! Debbie, sorry it's so late!

August 2005
An article dealing with video weblogs or "vlogs" was published in the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel featuring class member Pete Prodoehl on August 24, 2005.

Should you come across this message, please email Scott Smith with your updated contact information, including address, email and other pertinent info (such as a name change due to marriage). We'll be starting the daunting process of trying to connect with everyone again soon in preparation for the 20th year reunion in 2007.

April 2005
Ammatusk, a band featuring Scott Smith, released its debut CD, "Welcome to the Learning Curve," on March 28, 2005. You can hear clips of the songs on the band's website and you can find it in the inventory of iTunes, MSN Music, Amazon.com and CDbaby.com (among others--see the band's site for complete details).

March 2005
Jamie Whalen and his family were featured in an article published in the Green Bay Press-Gazette earlier this month.

January 2005
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Andy Rothfelder. Andy passed peacefully in his sleep Thursday, January 13, 2005 due to cardiac failure in his residence in Wind Lake at age 35. Andy was a well respected master carpenter and tradesman operating "Andy's Home Repair", a member of the West Allis Masonic Lodge, and a member of the Kettle Moraine H.O.G. Chapter. Left to treasure his memories are his mother, Marilyn, and father, Paul; his children, Andrew, Aaron and Alysa; sisters, Heidi (Bill) Unke and Gretchen (fiance Tyronne Rueda) Rothfelder; brothers, Adam and Donyia Rothfelder; estranged wife, LaShell; grandmother-in-law, Marian Crosswhite.

As of 22 April 2003, the chains of oppression that have imprisoned me for 13 years have been broken.  The divorce is final and I'm rebuilding my life now.  Step one, I have my maiden name back.  I am soooo happy!!

August 2002
Class member updates:
Brian Badura:

Right now I'm living in Gaithersburg, MD; a suburb of Washington DC. My wife Lina is a Naval officer, so this is our home for now. As for me, I'm working as a public affairs specialist during the day, and I'm also a Public Affairs officer in the Naval Reserve. Just to be sure I have no time to myself, I'm in the process of finishing a Master's in Communication. Hope you all are doing well.

Bill Barnes:
I live in Rock Hill, SC with my wife, Stephanie and two kids, ages 3 and 1. I work in Charlotte, NC as a owner of a catering business with my brother and cousin called Waiter's Choice Catering. I have been in the Carolinas since 1993. I am losing my hair and recently cut my hair into a mohawk for my youth group at church. It lasted for 4 days. I look forward to hearing about other classmates.

Dave Curtis:
Dave and his store Graveyard Records were featured in a Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel article the week after the reunion. The only problem is, the reporter left out a few things. You can read the article and read Dave's reply here.

Lynn (Rosenow) Geier:
"I was just promoted to be the Team Supervisor for part of our pretrial services division at WCS. I will supervise our in-custody team, our AIM (Alternatives to Incarceration in Milwaukee) team, and our House of Corrections team. I am very excited!"

Jodie Leu:
"I have been living in Washington, DC for nine years and the reunion was a great excuse to come back and see everyone."

Scott Smith:
"After battling with it for five years, I have finally received my Master's degree from UWM in Management (Information Systems). Now if only I could find a job where I can use it...."

July 28, 2002: Our 15 Year Class Reunion is History!
